The Lion Diet was created by Mikhaila Peterson in 2017. It is an extremely restrictive version of the carnivore diet, designed as an elimination diet.

The Lion Diet is the strictest version of the carnivore diet. It typically includes only:
- Ruminant meat: beef, lamb, venison and goat
- Animal fat: suet, tallow, fat from the meat
- Salt: usually plain salt
- Water
Some people include organ meats such as liver, but these aren’t universally included, offal contains carbohydrates and I am trying to avoid all carbs.
I am trying the Lion Diet experiment to rule out the effect of eggs that maybe affecting me. I have been eating a lot of eggs alongside beef and lamb for sometime.
Eggs can cause reactions in some people, though many tolerate them well.
A few things worth paying attention to:
- Digestion: bloating, stomach discomfort, nausea or changes in bowel habits.
- Skin: new or worsening rashes, itching, acne and pso
- Energy and mood: noticeable changes in tiredness, concentration or how you feel.
- Other symptoms: headaches or nasal symptoms, if those are things you’ve noticed.
I certainly suffer with Psoriasis, Joint pain and inflammation on a regular basis. It doesn’t take much to set me off.
